On Thursday, it poured down rain in a number of Westchester cities, including some areas of Yonkers where residents fear flooding.
Yonkers residents on Maple Place claim to adore their neighborhood, but terror grips them as soon as it begins to rain. One person described the circumstance as unpleasant and stated that there was flooding everywhere. She continued by saying that the city needed to do more to reduce ongoing flooding. Many of her neighbors concur, notably Dave Swatowy, who has spent nearly most of his life (70 years) living in the area. The sewage system can’t keep up with the neighborhood’s continued growth, according to Swatowy.
Residents claimed they have pleaded with lawmakers for assistance but have received none, and as a result, they are now even more irate. Some say that they had just finished Ida-related repairs after investing thousands of dollars.
In a short time frame, there was a lot of rain in the area. As water has started to recede in several of the hot areas, responders are on the scene to address any problems.
