NWS New York City – Upton (Long Island and New York City)

FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM EDT SUNDAY * WHAT Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE Portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following counties, in southern Connecticut, Fairfield. In northeast New Jersey, Bergen. In southeast New York, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester. * WHEN Until 1215 AM EDT. * IMPACTS Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS – At 1022 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts up to near 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. – Some locations that will experience flooding include Yonkers, Stamford, White Plains, Hackensack, New City, Port Chester, Bergenfield, Paramus, Ossining, Peekskill, Nanuet, Haverstraw, Tarrytown, Mount Kisco, Dobbs Ferry, Mahopac, Lake Carmel, Nyack, Tappan and Brewster. – http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
