SNY Play Ball Awards $2500 Grant for Local Youth Basketball Program

SNY, a regional sports broadcasting network in New York, has awarded R.E.A.C.H. Dreams Network a $2,500 grant for the purpose of furthering community outreach via its basketball program.

Rise in Education Athletics & Healthyliving (R.E.A.C.H.) Dreams Network is a nonprofit organization based in Yonkers with a goal to serve local youth populations. It has played a long-standing role in providing free programming to the Yonkers community since 2015, focusing on youth outreach and recreation.

Since its outset in 2011, the SNY Play Ball initiative has awarded over $805,000 to various sporting organizations. Through this it has helped support over 300,000 youth participants. The recent grant was distributed specifically through SNY’s “Play Ball” initiative. This initiative supports year-round youth sports programs like baseball, basketball, and football in the New York tri-state area.

R.E.A.C.H. expressed gratitude for SNY’s generosity and maintains that this grant will help continue its mission of providing free community youth programs in Yonkers. The money awarded will be used by the non-profit to purchase equipment and supplies. Firstly, new basketballs and other training equipment for its free youth basketball programming. Furthermore, the funding will also be utilized for new backpacks and school supplies for students.

This year’s $2,500 grant from SNY Play Ball will help one of many community organizations working to promote positive changes in Yonkers for the last thirteen years and counting. The grant will have a long-lasting impact on R.E.A.C.H. Dreams Network itself, as well as the young community members who benefit from its services.
