Lansdowne Yonkers Football Club Opens Registration For Spring Soccer Program

The Lansdowne Yonkers Football Club has opened its registration for youth programs for the coming Spring season. Parents can now register their children for a variety of soccer programs and be a part of an exciting community legacy of determination and teamwork in Yonkers.

About Lansdowne Yonkers FC

The Lansdowne Yonkers Football Club, formerly known as the Bronx Bhoys FC, and later the Lansdowne Bhoys FC, first began in 1997. The club formed in Lansdowne Bar in Riverdale with the specific aim of facilitating the role of soccer in the lives of the Irish-American immigrant population of the Bronx and Yonkers.

In the nearly 30 years since its founding, the Lansdowne Yonkers FC has grown to encompass over 400 players, two adult teams, and 22 youth teams. Its members come from many different backgrounds and nationalities.

The club has grown to be one of the largest such clubs in the Westchester County area and has also achieved national–and even international–recognition and success. It has a track record of besting professional teams in the U.S. Open Cup, as well as earning the titles of National Fricker Cup Champions and National Amateur Champions multiple times in recent years. The club has also had the distinct honor of traveling to Ireland for competitions. In the near future, the Lansdowne Yonkers FC hopes to continue growing its robust programs with the goal of increasing community engagement with soccer.

About the Youth Program

Lansdowne’s Youth Soccer program is open to children ages 3-19, and supports players with attentive coaching and various training levels. It aims to facilitate traditional values such as healthy competition and hard work. There are many opportunities for all skill and interest levels, ranging from the Little Kickers Program, specific to children born between 2016 and 2020, to their Elite Youth Program, to travel teams. Lessons take place two to three times per week, with games on weekends and opportunities to compete in Domestic and National Cup competitions.

Through the Lansdowne Yonkers FC Youth Program, local youth are encouraged to not only be physically active, but also to develop practical skills and potentially develop long-term friendships. Participants will be able to experience the camaraderie of a team environment and be nurtured in their development.

The upcoming Spring registration period is the perfect time to take advantage of this attractive and fun opportunity! Registration is open now on the Yonkers Lansdowne website, with prices ranging from $250-$800 depending on the program.
