Registration Now Open for 2024 Yonkers Marathon

Yonkers residents are beginning to gear up for the city’s 97th annual Yonkers Marathon, half marathon, and 5k races. Mayor Mike Spano announced on February 9 that registration is now open for participants.

The Yonkers Marathon draws attention to the city’s naturally hilly landscape. This allows both participants and spectators to engage with Yonkers’ unique geography and history, according to Mayor Spano.

We welcome thousands of runners each year to our great City. Our hills may be a challenge, but these athletes prove time and again the course is worth the training and commitment. Come out and see our beautiful City, celebrate our history, and participate in one of the most prominent races in the region.

The USA Track and Field certified marathon is the second oldest in the country, and is also a qualifier for the prestigious Boston Marathon.

This year’s race

The 97th annual Yonkers Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 15; beginning promptly at 8am. The event starts in front of the Yonkers Riverfront Library, located at 1 Larkin Center. It then takes runners along the Hudson River and through the hilly landscape of the entire city.

Free parking will be available at the nearby Buena Vista parking garage beginning at 3:30am the day of the race. Additionally, there will be a light bag check available. Competitors receive course and finish line photos, and the top runners will be recognized in-person and online.
