As the Democratic primary election for New York’s 16th Congressional District draws near, News 12 has announced a town hall debate set to air on May 13 at 8:30 p.m.

The forthcoming debate marks a significant moment in one of the nation’s most closely watched Democratic primaries. Incumbent Jamaal Bowman and challenger George Latimer will engage in a dialogue directly with local voters. Audience participation defines the bedrock of the debate, with questions sourced directly from local constituents.

Tara Rosenblum, News 12’s political reporter in Westchester, serves as the moderator for this hour-long program. In partnership with the Business Council of Westchester, the debate will reach TV screens on both News 12 Westchester and News 12 the Bronx. Additionally, viewers can tune in to the debate via various platforms including the News 12 app on Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV, as well as the regional OTT channel, News 12 New York.

For those eager to participate, an opportunity to submit questions is available online. Click here to complete the form. Selected individuals may potentially gain access to the live audience.

Held six weeks before the June 25 primary, the May 13 debate serves as the largest venue for these candidates.
