Mike Spano Endorses Nader Sayegh’s Re-Election Bid to State Assembly

Mike Spano, the mayor of Yonkers, has backed Nader Sayegh‘s bid for re-election to the State Assembly. On Tuesday, September 20, the Mayor gave remarks at a Sayegh campaign rally at the Castle Royale in Yonkers. A collection of location politicians like Shelley Mayer and Tasha Diaz were also in attendance. During the event, Spano complimented Sayegh for bringing home millions of dollars in state funding that is promoting economic growth and enhancing public education.

“You require someone in the State Capitol who understands the requirements of our city and knows how to convey those demands,” Spano declared. Nader Sayegh represents Yonkers’ 90th Assembly District and states education is a top priority. He currently serves on the committees for cities, racing and wagering, and education.

Accomplishments in economic development and population expansion were cited by the mayor as evidence that Sayegh and the rest of the State legislative delegation are capable of getting things done.

“We have one of the State’s fastest-expanding neighborhoods” said Assembly person Sayegh. “We are now New York’s third biggest city thanks to new companies like the television and film production studios, UPS, and Empire City Casino by MGM, and we are generating new economic prospects for Yonkers people.”

Sayegh is being challenged for his Assembly seat by current Yonkers City Council Member Mike Breen of the fifth district. Election day is Tuesday November 8th.
