In a confrontation at an Old Tappan, NJ residence, 27-year-old Miguel DelRosario was apprehended by law enforcement on December 4. Responding to a call reporting an unwanted person causing a disturbance, Sgt. Eugene Wilkins and Officer Andrew Kim, along with Detective Sgt. Charles DiMaria and River Vale police, found DelRosario behaving erratically, wielding a stick and chain in a bedroom.
Authorities revealed that DelRosario, who initially refused to leave, was taken into custody without incident. To ensure the safety of tenants and children, all were evacuated from the building during the operation.
Authorities, upon searching DelRosario, uncovered a disturbing arsenal. Among the confiscated items were a stolen 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine, a “ghost gun,” and a sizable knife. DelRosario now faces charges of illegal weapons possession, possession of the magazine, and receiving stolen property.
As of Wednesday, DelRosario remains detained in the Bergen County Jail. He awaits his first appearance in the Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
