Yonkers Man Gets 17 Years for Brutal Attack on Elderly Asian Woman

42-year old Yonkers resident, Tammel Esco, who injured 67-year-old Asian women in a brutal attack, outside her Yonkers apartment earlier this year, was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison.

According to reports, the assailant had brutally attacked the old lady of Filipino descent, punching her more than 100 times and leaving her severely injured with several fractures and bruises.

As per the surveillance footage released by the County police department, Esco could be clearly seen stomping the victim with his construction boots, and spitting on her injured body thereafter.

While reading her impact statement at court, the old lady termed the attack as “heartless” that had left her fearful, insecure, further compelling her to flee the area where she’d spent 24 years of her life.

At a recent news conference, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah, while  denouncing the attack, termed it as one of the most ghastly and heinous crimes the area had experienced. She characterized the assault as “vicious and shocking”, saying that it had traumatized the whole Yonkers community.

Esco was taken into custody shortly after the attack and, in September, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault motivated by hate.
