Ghost Gun Traffickers from D.C. to Yonkers Sentenced to a Combined 31 Years in Prison

Three individuals have been sentenced to a collective 31 years behind bars for selling ghost guns in Yonkers. The case brought by Westchester County District Attorney Mimi Rocah underscored the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in curbing the spread of illicit firearms.

Operation “Iron Pipeline”

The successful operation dismantled an “Iron Pipeline” funneling illegal firearms from Washington, D.C. to Yonkers. The joint effort involved the Yonkers Police, NYPD, the Drug Enforcement Agency, FBI and the District Attorney’s office. Their investigation spanned from April 28 to June 24, 2022; revealing the sale of 31 un-serialized firearms. Undercover agents procured these 31 ghost guns along with two conventional firearms over five separate transactions.

On June 24, 2022, authorities arrested Jose Gregorio Olivo-Feliz, 29, and Pedro Junior Olivo-Feliz, 23, both residents of Yonkers. A third accomplice, Netaly Pena-Camilo, 28, from Washington, D.C. was arrested the following week on June 29. All three defendants plead guilty to a slew of felony charges after their indictment in August 2022. These included:

  • Criminal Sale of a Firearm in the First and Second Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second and Third Degree
  • Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree

Netaly Pena-Camilo received the longest sentence at 15 years in New York State prison. She must then serve five years of post-release supervision. Jose Gregorio Olivo-Feliz and Pedro Junior Olivo-Feliz face sentences of nine and seven years, respectively. Each also must similarly serve five years of post-release supervision.

Assistant District Attorneys Rachel Ehrhardt and Kevin Jones led the prosecution as DA Rocah praised the collaborative law enforcement effort. In a press release on March 22, DA Rocah stated, “This case underscores our tireless and proactive efforts to stop the proliferation of illegal firearms.”
