Another Year Spreading Cheer; Otis the Elf Visits Landmarks in Yonkers

The holiday season in Yonkers would not have been complete without a visit from our dear Otis the Elf. He made another journey this year to our great city, spreading more of his holiday magic! He had to make sure he visited all of his favorite spots, giving a warm Christmas “Hello!” before the season came to an end.

First stop on Otis’ journey

After hopping off the Yonkers Metro North Train, it made the most sense to visit the tree-lighting ceremony at the waterfront docks. Unfortunately, it was raining that night but the celebrations stopped for no one! What better way to kick off the season?

The Beauty of Untermyer Park

Otis may have just missed The Grand Holiday Illumination this season but the gorgeous Persian-style pool and architecture is definitely nothing to scoff at. For a park this grand, it is sure to be top of the list for the fresh air and taking in the sights.

Pizza Barn Paradise

One naturally gets hungry while on a whimsical Holiday journey. Where else do you go to refuel your Christmas energy other than Pizza Barn? The slices may have been bigger than him, but who doesn’t like a challenge?

Elfin’ Around The Christmas Trees

Otis had to keep an eye on the last-minute Christmas shoppers by paying a visit to Cross County and Ridge Hill Shopping Centers. He of course couldn’t miss an opportunity to see and revel in the Christmas Tree lights while possibly checking off a gift or two even a holiday elf may have missed.

Delite-ful Decadence at Delite Bakery

Last but certainly not least, and for our fellow sweet-toothed folk, a visit to Delite Bakery is a must! Being in business for over 80 years has certainly cemented its Yonkers legacy. I wonder what Otis got for himself, hard to resist their Cannolis or Lobster Tails.

Till Next Time Otis!

It was time to say farewell to Yonkers and embark on his journey back to The North Pole since his job was complete. The cheerful elf visited some of our most popular locations all across the city, making sure the holiday spirit was close at hand for all of us. Rumor has it, he’s already planning his next visit and we eagerly await his return.
