Stefanik Park now has a brand-new, cutting-edge workout facility

On Friday, the city revealed that Stefanik Park now has a brand-new, cutting-edge workout facility. Yonkers is giving locals the tools they need to work up a sweat in the open air in an effort to encourage better health. This step is being taken mainly to help the locals bounce back from the effect the epidemic had on their health.

“What we’re doing to assist residents is our responsibility. However, we’re not acting alone; we’re working with artists like Styles P.”, adds Yonkers mayor Mike Spano. At the park, in the presence of city officials, Spano handed Styles P, a legendary native hip-hop artist, the keys to the city.

The rapper, who makes up one-third of the legendary band The Lox, played a key role in securing outdoor exercise areas in Yonkers parks.

“Many individuals in Yonkers’ inner city, particularly after the epidemic but even before, cannot afford a gym membership.”, the rapper says.

The $75,000 fitness center has jump stairs, parallel bars, and training ladders.

Stefanik is now Yonkers’ fifth park with equipment for physical activity.

The objective is to provide some type of recreational and sports area at each park in the city to encourage residents to feel healthy overall.

Styles P. says, “Health for the children, health for the adults…health for families”
