Yonkers is adding more COVID testing locations as the city gets ready for Monday’s start of classes.
While there are three new testing locations in schools, there were still long waiting lines there and elsewhere.
Dr Edwin M. Quezada, the superintendent of schools in Yonkers, wants to test as many students and employees as feasible so that kids may keep learning in person.
Without a doubt, keeping kids at home has a detrimental influence on young people, and that is something we definitely want to prevent, he added.
“Being far away from our children at home isn’t ideal. Our children should be in a school. We desire that they study,” Mayor of Yonkers Mike Spano remarked.
According to Yonkers health authorities, 800 people had COVID-19 tests on Wednesday.
