Yonkers Public Library Hosts Groundbreaking Exhibit, ‘Bridging Chasms’ Fostering Community Connection

On Saturday, March 23, the Yonkers Public Library’s Riverfront Art Gallery presents the opening reception of “Bridging Chasms.” This profound exhibit features artwork that challenges the boundaries of class and the walls that divide us. This includes privilege, politics, accessibility, race, and gender identities.

Exhibition & The Artists

28 different artists’ work will be showcased at the Riverfront Art Gallery which includes a diverse variety of mediums including painting, textiles, sculpture, and installation. The featured artists delve into the theme of building community and surpassing boundaries regardless of the obstacles in between.

Their thought-provoking work not only pushes you to reflect on the ways these borders separate us but they also offer a vision of hope, healing, and inclusivity.

The artistic community that provided their exemplary work for this exhibition includes an array of cultures and backgrounds. Arab, Jewish, Muslim, and Queer artists have joined together to forge a positive community in an effort to heal.
