In a celebration of their quarter-century in the rap game, The LOX, Yonkers’ proud trio of Styles P, Jadakiss, and Sheek Louch, were honored with a congressional proclamation during their 25th-anniversary concert at the Westchester County Center on Saturday December 16.
The legendary rap group, known for their gritty lyricism and impactful contributions to the hip-hop genre, took the stage to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album, “Money, Power & Respect,” coinciding with the 50th birthday of hip-hop itself.
The concert featured special guest performances from fellow Yonkers legend Mary J. Blige, as well as Fabolous, Freeway, Young Gunz, and Lil Cease.
The highlight of the evening came when Congressman Jamaal Bowman took the stage to present The LOX with a congressional proclamation. It recognized their outstanding contributions to the world of music and culture. Bowman expressed his admiration, stating, “It is an incredible honor […] to recognize the brilliant career of Yonkers’ own The LOX.”
