Local community organization, Que Paso Latinx, opened its first space in Yonkers on October 10th. The group hopes this milestone advances their mental health mission.
About the Que Paso Latinx organization
Que Paso Latinx, founded by Maria Alfaro as a nonprofit organization, originated from her personal journey and a commitment to address the mental health needs of Latinx youth and their families. Inspired by her mother’s bipolar disorder and her own educational path, Maria established the organization in 2020. With a background in behavioral sciences and organizational leadership, she envisions integrating mental health education into public school curricula. Maria collaborates with various educational and community groups to spread awareness and support. The organization’s logo, symbolizing unity, resilience, and the uniqueness of each individual’s mental health journey, reflects their mission to provide understanding and assistance to those in need.
