Eden Eats Indian Food at Neha Palace

Despite her mother regularly cooking Indian food at home, our youthful food critic still loves to dine at local favorite, Neha Palace. And her perfect 10/10 review may give her mom’s cooking a run for her money.

About Neha Palace

Neha Palace Restaurant and Banquet Hall is located at 27 Meyer Avenue (behind the Cross County Shopping Center) in Yonkers. It’s broad menu of dishes from across India caters to eaters of authentic ethnic cuisine as well as those unfamiliar with the complex and fragrant flavors. In addition to the restaurant, Neha Palace also offers a large event space for weddings, birthday parties, fundraisers, or any large celebration.

Eden’s Order

Eden and her mom, Christine, sampled popular Indian fare on a Saturday lunch outing. “I ordered samosas, mango lassi and the children’s Chicken Makhani, which is butter chicken” along with basmati rice and naan. Mom Christine traded her usual biryani for “Chili Chicken” and fried rice with a boiled egg, “Indo-Chinese” style.

“The Chicken Makhani was very creamy and the chicken melted in your mouth,” noted Eden. And upon trying her mother’s food, she conceded that it was good, but too spicy for her. But, undaunted, she said, “I will get it when I’m older and like spicer food.

The mango lassi was so good I wanted to scream and the samosas were to die for, literally.

Eden said that she also loves Neha’s Chicken Tikka Masala. So, the food seems to be a hit all around as she explained, “Every time I go to Neha Palace the food is always good and everyone loves their dish.

I can eat it every day for 2 weeks.”

Quality and Quantity

And as typical of Indian cuisine, Neha Palace serves their portions “family style” with enough to share. On this outing, like most others, Eden was grateful for her leftovers, saying, “There was so much, I was able to take some home for a snack later.

But better still than leftovers is having plenty of food to share with loved ones. Whether it’s the main dining room or the adjacent banquet space, Neha Palace seems built for families and large groups.

We like to go there with friends because they give you enough for everyone to be able to taste all the meals and easily share.

And Eden was also grateful for the helpful staff. “The Owner Diya is very nice and so is Patrick.  He is always nice when you go to the restaurant and asks me what I want, not just the adults,” reported Eden.

So, with such a broad selection of dishes, and enough to keep your whole family fed, Neha Palace was a big hit for our local food critic. With her 10/10 score Eden suggests, “Everyone should go there as much as they can to eat all the delicious food.”
